Purchase a Fireplace from them 3 years ago . Wanted to have serviced and cleaned . The recommended trying another company . Attitude was horrible .
We have a heatilator gas fireplace insert. New in 2008. The igniter quit working in 2012. We called Hearth & Home to service it who had serviced it every other year since we bought the house. They claimed it couldn't be repaired, they don't make parts for our unit any more and wanted us to buy a new gas insert. I called Fireside Hearth & Home since they were an authorized dealer and service technician for heatilator. They diagnosed the problem as a defective igniter assembly, ordered the part and it has worked like new since 2012. They haven't bugged me to service it every year since then either. I was pleased with the service.
Customer service is lousy. Had an appointment. Never received a call about appointment being cancelled, they just never showed up. Took repeated calls to them for them to finally say the repairman wasn't coming out that day. Have called back to reschedule and it is like you are talking a foreign language. The person has no clue. Sure didn't take them long to charge my credit card after they ordered the part but now it's becoming impossible to get someone to come out and actually do the repairs. Getting close to just asking for a refund.
