I highly recommend the shower! It was extremely relaxing and was my first time experiencing something like that. The wall has a control panel on it that lets you adjust some built-in led's above you to any color or color cycle you want. There are even themed modes (such as thunderstorms) that you can select. It does get hot pretty quickly though if you have all 10 shower heads running at once with the steam but it's well worth it.
I had such a great massage here. The spa is really beautiful and clean. Everyone was very warm, welcoming, and friendly!
Very disappointed with our experience. My husband had an AMAZING masseur. He listened and did what was asked. I however had a masseuse that would not do what was asked. After 4 times of asking her to please contact concentrate on my neck and shoulders she finally did, a whooping 8 minutes at the end. I walked out just as tense as what I walked in. When we booked with specifically asked for 2 masseurs, that did not happen and we were not told the shower was broken until after we were robed and ready to go. When my husband tried to discuss this up front it was like the lady was in lala land. Spoiler alert they also add a 20% gratitude regardless of service and do not tell you until after you have paid. Guess we will stick to the places we know, won't make this mistake again.
The staff is unorganized and unaccommodating. The robes are also old, thin, and in dire need of replacement. The steam shower/room is priced for a 25 minute session however they only allowed me to stay in for 15. When I asked, the staff seemed clueless but admitted they were "making changes." I wouldn't recommend this spa to anyone. There are much better options than Aura all over Richmond.
When Aura first opened, I had great experiences - stone massage, manicures - but in the last year I have been extremely disappointed. Every time I've gone in, I've been asked by reception (a new person every time} if I am a new customer. How difficult is it for them to look on their software system and see that I have been a client for at least 5 years. Not only that, but the last 2 times I've had an appointment, the time has changed when I arrive. Are there no telephones, are there no emails, are there no texts? I believe the staff is lazy and doesn't care. Management should take note. Demandforce can't help you if you don't help your clients. Red Door is my spa now.
After reading the two bad reviews I feel like I've visited a completely different spa!
I've been here three times... twice for hot stone massages and the most recent visit was for the "Gentleman's Package". It included a chromatherapy shower, a massage of my choice, and a beer! The staff has always been very attentive, professional, and courteous. I haven't had any difficulty in making last minute appointments while staying at the hotel either.
