Great atmosphere and music, food is good as is the staff
An absolute favorite of mine here in Richmond since it's inception! Great ambience, a very kind staff, incredibly talented chef, and delicious meal after delicious meal. I adore Kanoa's connection to it's roots and celebration of Latin culture. Favorite dishes include the mussels appetizer, mango salad, arroz con pollo (not on the menu), and any cachapa combination. Make sure to try the platanos (plantains) or an arepa with your meal along with a Caipirinha
Greatly enjoyed this local spot. They brought out complimentary bread before we got our food with garlic parmesan olive oil and it was hands down the best bread dipping oil and bread I've ever tried. I ordered the arrapas seafood medley or Benedict- can't remember the name to be exact, and the hollandaise sauce had crab and shrimp cooked into it. My meal , alongside everyone else's, was truly incredible. The food here was definitely something different, but in a good way. This place is without a doubt worth a try.
We were in Richmond visiting our son and had dinner at Kanoa. It was fantastic! I had the Vegetarian Sub which was just delicious. My husband had the chimichanga and my son had a burrito. Highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning there.
