As a wedding venue this hotel was a huge disappointment. The hotel itself is adorable with multiple fabulous spaces for a small wedding. Unfortunately the staff and management seem to know nothing about weddings and repeatedly presented challenges. They started with telling my daughter (the bride) the week before the wedding that they changed their minds about some crucial details for the wedding dinner. She was able to come to a compromise with them but greatly disliked having to argue so close to her wedding date. They didn't have anything to hang a wedding dress from and seemed puzzled that we didn't want to stuff the dress in the closet or toss it on the bed. They bumped the wedding cake and nearly ruined it (their chef was able to repair it). They added $700 to my credit card for my one night stay and took two days to straighten it out. The thing that bothered me the most was the lack of a runner for my daughter to walk down in the courtyard where the ceremony was held. The floor was filthy and her dress was streaked with black by the time she made it to the front of the room. If they can overcome these issues, they could be a top venue for small weddings. If not, look elsewhere.
Walked in the door and blown away by beauty. Class and Elegance abound. Organized; structured and fun. Once you get to the roof top there are no pesky bugs to contend with just clear gorgeous panoramic views of the city and whatever else you see beyond city limits. This is another place I'd give more than five stars to if I could. And, the food is pretty tasty on the rooftop; although a little limited in choices. Seating is also limited and there is typically standing room only unless you get there before happy hour.
Great bar experience even agter 10 pm on a Sunday. Pleasant and attentive bartender, E. Made us excellent drinks. Love the decor as well.
I absolutely LOVED this hotel.. My sister recommended it to me and told me that it is even cuter than the pictures and she was right. The lobby was so pretty and I just loved its overall vibe. Everyone who worked there was nice, friendly and eager to help.The room was so spacious with so much personality. Cannot recommend the hotel enough!
I have had a very poor customer service experience at this hotel. My family had been in discussions with the hotel staff for several weeks regarding having a pre-wedding party for my sister and her fiance next summer, which would include renting the rooftop bar and also blocking rooms for the wedding weekend. Things seemed to be going alright at first; we were told that the minimum number of rooms to block was 20, and that they had to be paid upfront - not how it is done at other hotels in Richmond, but fair enough, and we agreed. Then we were told that the price per room actually INCREASES, the more rooms that are booked...where is the logic in that? And then, after weeks of discussion, the hotel tells us that we actually need to commit to a block of 40 rooms (double what we initially agreed), paid upfront, with a progressively increasing rate per room. We were quite surprised by yet another change to the agreement, and upon inquiring further, the hotel staff finally admitted that, "other guests get upset when the rooftop is closed off for private parties." So instead of just telling us from the get-go that they cannot accommodate us for a private event, they jerked us around for weeks and tried to get more and more money out of us until they figured we would back out of the deal. Customer service at its worst. Moral of the story: Don't bother trying to book the rooftop for your event, and don't block rooms here for weddings!!
