Being a first time visitor I was pleased with the overall layout. There is plenty of room to accommodate cart drivers to turn around in. Prices were presented clearly. Manager helped with packing and delivering bags to my vehicle . I was greeted by mostly all the employees and helped to find groceries I needed. I enjoyed my shopping experience.
The signage could be better and the staff (Mike being the exception needs better training). 4 of the staff could not answer questions as to the location of items.
They have good food choices but it's not somewhere I'd go to do all of my weekly shopping (this is mostly because they just don't have everything on my typical weekly shopping list). They have a good selection of harder to find items, but their prices are a bit more than other local grocery stores. The staff are always friendly and things are easy to find. Meats are good and there's a ton of selection, but a pack of ground meat was more than two sirloin steaks. They also have a fantastic salad bar as well as good, tasty bakery items.
This store is fairly new, bought from a previous grocery chain and remodeled. The staff is super nice, helpful, and go beyond normal standards to serve customers. You are frequently greeted around the store, & if you ask where something is located staff are trained to walk you to the item! There are no loyalty card hassles, as you can type in a phone number at checkout, which connects to your digital coupons you can load online, as well as paper one's you can print out. The store amazes me with how clean, well-stocked, and bright it is maintained. Items are well-organized, and the bakery is great!
In the parking lot a staff member, I think his name was Tony was a big help. With small improvements this could be a great place to shop. Joe G.
Having lived in Florida I am familiar with Publix. I went to the Brook Road store in Glen Allen. The store felt chopped up in its layout (former Martin's). I have for three days been trying to find turkey thighs with out a result. I called this store as my local Kroger did not have the item and would not be receiving any. Others did not have the the thighs either.
Mike, in the Publix's meet department knew he was out, knew when they would be coming and agreed to hold some for me. I have them as I write this. THANKS MIKE!
Great grocery store and their deli is to die for! If you haven't had a Publix sub you must go there and try one right away. My girlfriend is from Florida where Publix is common and she has always wanted to take me there..and now they are here in VA! The bread is the perfect mixture of dense, crispy and chewy. And then the meats are high quality (especially if you go with Boar's Head). They don't skim on the toppings and they are high quality. Highly, highly recommend. Great customer service and plenty of high quality groceries to choose from. You must go see if you haven't!!
