I am a veterinarian myself, but when my senior dog needed a complicated surgery performed I took him to VVSA. I am glad I did. The entire staff was helpful, took great care of my dog, and Dr. Suess was fantastic. Your pet is in good hands with these professional and caring people.
Excellent care by professional, knowledgeable and compassionate staff. I cannot praise Dr. Suess enough for his concern for my dog during his serious health problems. His knowledge and care eased a difficult situation.
I have not been here personally, but did want to alert readers that Shelley Ottenbrite seems to only writes negative reviews. Based on what I have seen (search her reviews) I would not base any decisions on a negative review from Shelley.
Polite, courteous, caring staff. Took great care of my cats.
Dr. Suess and his intern couldn't care less about your animal -- just that you don't ask questions and have a working credit card. When I asked the intern why cancer would show up in a chest x-ray when it didn't in a large tumor on my dog's paw, he snipped "Should I cut off his leg and we'll find out his tumor is benign later?" He said the biopsy would be back in 1-2 days. I changed a flight to Vermont (infinitely better care there) to figure out the care plan and when I didn't hear from them, I called and was informed no -- it was 5-7 days -- snipping the misunderstanding was MINE -- not their poor communication. (Really poor -- options are unexplained, reports are cursorily and wrongly read). Both Suess and his intern glimpsed my dog's record and thought I was there to treat previous cured health issues -- each one thought it was a different issue from the past! My neighbor, a biology major was with me and will affirm all this is true. When I told Suess, his response was lalala what? I again explicitly asked about the bedside manner and he said he'd talk to the intern. I told him I changed my flight due to careless misinformation and he said "I treated your dog like my own," which not only changed the subject, but brings to mind the tale of the cobbler's kids have no shoes. I want professional care that I'm paying for -- not shoeless kids and a mistreated dog. Finally, my record held a note that I had been called when I absolutely had NOT. Suess said they had the day wrong and it should have been the same day I talked to him. The worst.
