I had two storage pods with SMARTBOX. When I requested access to my pods I was given the run around for 30+ days. Then my delivery date kept changing. When the pods arrived there was only one pod with the lock broken off and the other could not be found. I have been trying to resolve this issue with SMARTBOX since October 2012. CEO Bryan Bostic was helpful in the beginning, but has since backed away stating that the franchise is working with the franchisee to bring this franchise up to franchise standards. The police requested I find out from SMARTBOX the last time my pods were accounted and SMARTBOX bond information; my email requesting this information was never responded to. The SMARTBOX, BBB inquiry was not responded to. SMARTBOX advertises state of the art security, then how can a thief access a secured warehouse with 100+ pods and break in and no one is aware; the thief also left a container of someone else’s belongings in my pod that SMARTBOX has not asked me to return. I did not know my personal documents had been stolen when the IRS notified me in 2012 that someone had stolen my identity and filed a fraudulent tax return for 2011; I have since notified the IRS of the theft of my personal documents (previous tax returns/real estate closings). I would not use SMARTBOX to store my property and I would not recommend them to anyone.
