One of my favorite places to go with my kids. Note: I said go with and not take, as I may enjoy going just as much. The Speed exhibit is so much fun to interact with ... my kids (and I) can spend hours in that one spot ... particularly if you go off peak hours when its largely all yours. We love racing alligators/rats/bears in a 10m dash, seeing how fast we can throw a baseball, trying to beat a robot in air hockey, and more.

Excellent fun and educational experience for all ages. Will make this a regular thing to check out additions as they arrive. They also allow active mil and or vets in for free so even better! (Not there spouses, and my 2 year old got it free too)There is a place within the building for food and drinks too which is very helpful as you’ll want to spend lots of time here so you won’t have to leave and go far before returning to all the fun stuff here.

Great experience with kids

Super cool place. Kids have a great opportunity to learn science concepts. There's an air hockey table with a robotic opponent, a booth explaining special relativity in easy to understand ways, and so much more. The staff are super helpful and very friendly. A great place for the family, and for everyone to learn. Basketball playing rats too!!!

This is one of my favorite places in RVA! There's always something new and exciting to experience. I make it a point to invite family and friends from out-of-town to come with me.

I love this place on sunny or rainy days when it's time to entertain the 8 year-old. There is so much to do, so many different exhibits that we always find something we haven't done before. The best part for us is the crafts, which are a part of almost every exhibit, and really involve her in what is being taught, besides providing an opportunity to interact with other kids younger and older. There is a lot of interactive learning play, much less walking around and looking and looking at things, so she is always up for a visit!
