Attentive friendly personable staff. Food cooked well. Portions were good. Music was playing we weren't being rushed out. We were able to taste the liquor in the drinks. Great establishment!
The pork chops were dry and the gravy on everything was way too salty. We waited 40 minutes for our food after ordering. The BBQ ribs were great. Would not recommend or return.
4.3 out of 5. Laid back casual dining. I've been there twice. Ordered baked chicken with cabbage and mac and cheese the first time. Second visit ordered pork chops with mashed potatoes and cabbage and a side of yams. Pork chops are amazing. Unlike other soul food places they don't overseason the food. I don't typically put salt on my food when I eat out but I did sprinkle a little bit on the Mac and cheese. Yams were amazing. Owner and staff are polite. Takes less than 25 minutes from being seated to being served food. I will return.
Everytime time I travel down 95 from Jersey. I needed a food spot I finally found it... Perfect Place...
My mom and I first time visit on April 30,2017 and when we walked in I automatically thought of the place in Hampton called Soul Cafe so I figured we give this place a try. I didn't want a dinner so when I saw turkey burgers on the menu I was alright let me try it. I was not disappointed at all. It came with sweet potato fries which was a bonus. I truly enjoyed my meal. The best turkey burger I've had. Yummy.
BTW I ended up ordering the turkey burger and sweet fries to go. I ate it for lunch today...... Scrumptious
My mom ordered yams, collard greens with baked chicken and she enjoyed her meal as well. We live in Hampton and Yorktown so hopefully when we come through Richmond again I will stop by.
