The one negative thing I noticed is that it kind of still smells like an old diner/fried food place from when it was the sports bar, called Buddy’s. I don’t know if that was my mind playing tricks on me, but the kitchen is open at the back of the restaurant so it also might just need better ventilation so the smells don’t sneak into the rest of the space.

I met a group of friends here at the new location for Secco (moved from Carytown to Robinson St.), and had a great time. Secco is a nice way to try wines you might not otherwise have the chance to, and the glass prices start at $9-10 and go up from there. If you plan to have more than 2 glasses it can get pricey, but it is a wonderful place for happy hour. Not to mention they have an unplugged offering where if your whole table puts their phones and smart watches in a covered basket on the table, you get $1 off of each glass of wine, and food as well (can’t remember if it’s just appetizers/small plates or not).
Intimate yet relaxed ambience, professional, subdued service, lovely food and very fine wines and cocktails.
Great place with a great staff. Very knowledgeable about wines from difference regions of the world. Would highly recommend!
