I've been going to this shop since it opened, and while at first glance it may not look like your normal bike shop with rows and rows of bikes on the floor, one soon realizes that it's because they are interested in putting together the perfect bike for you -- not just selling you whatever they happen to have in stock. The bonus comes when you then realize that they are the retail arm of the Richmond Cycling Corps, which is one of the nation's leading outreach and mentoring programs for at-risk youth. All of the proceeds from Richmond Bicycle Studio go directly to the RCC. Add to that the fact that they have who is widely considered the best mechanic in the city, and I can't think of a better reason to support this shop.
