David Freed lives within 100 yards of General Lee. Lovely area but remember Lee and company fought to preserve Slavery. They were not heros! Consider what African Americans must think of these statues.
I kind of temporarily live right by here and is a beautiful part of Richmond. Really nice area of town. Great history around here.
Monument Avenue is beautiful. I have lived within blocks of it for over years. The architecture is handsome and varied. The statues to Lee and Maury, especially, are world-class. I think it's important to tell the rest of the story of the Richmond story; enslavement, emancipation, Reconstruction, Jim Crow laws and more, to this day.
This area is nice use to go to church over here. It's a very well off upper class neighborhood very quiet.
It's funny because Robert E Lee is the general responsible for freeing the slaves as he was the one to declare surrender to spare the people! idiot little people who want to tear it down, don't know history!
