This morning, I hit a curb and had a flat in the front a block away from the store. I was already losing air from the rear wheel, so I basically had two flats. I had remembered driving by Lucky's before and headed there. They sold me new tubes (very reasonable cost) and gave me a wrench and even inflated the wheels for me after I'd changed the tubes. They also offered to do the tube changes for me for a very reasonable fee, but I don't mind changing tubes - I was just impressed at how helpful they were even after I declined the service. This is the kind of interaction I love from a small shop. Because, while I can change tubes in an ally, I can't service an old air fork I have on my mountain bike. It's probably something I can figure out, but I'd rather take it to my new favorite friendly local bike mechanic who that took a generous amount of time (considering I only purchased 2 tubes) getting me back on the road today.

These guys are the bike equivalent of the car mechanic people look for their entire life. They are good at what they do, fair, honest and don't rape you on price. There's never an agenda. I've been to a lot of bike shops in Richmond and all of them either try to upsell you, bs you, or overcharge for simple tasks. Lucky's is literally the perfect bike shop.
