When I went for my annual mammogram, the ADBC used their new 3 D mammography machine but failed to tell me that my insurer (Anthem) wouldn't cover all the cost of the mammogram because the 3D machine is considered "experimental". So I got a bill from Henrico Doctors Hospital for that portion of the bill that Anthem didn't cover. When I complained that I was never told that using the 3D machine would mean that my mammogram wasn't covered 100% by insurance, HDH refused to waive the difference. Anthem has refused to pay the difference. So I am stuck with the bill. I think that ADBC should have informed me of the cost before using the 3D machine.
