For years, my mother saw Dr. Fred Shaia who is wonderful and polished and personable. Now that he stepped down, we saw his son, Dr. Wayne Shaia who was rude and arrogant. He said not to bother going to Johns Hopkins because HE KNOWS everything they could tell us. He's riding on his father's reputation but not the same professional at all.
I just had surgery on Feb. 7, 2017, and I believe Dr. Wayne Shaia has improved my hearing. I can't wait for the audiogram after I've healed!
I have a tendency to pass out when I go to the Doctor's office. Well, I felt this feeling coming on and Dr. Shaia had one of his staff members stand next to me to make sure that I was going to be OK, gave me water and wet cloths. This took a good 15 - 20 minutes and he would periodically come in to check on me. This was embarrassing for me but I was comforted by how he and his staff handled the situation. That was two years ago and now I have an appointment to go back for another treatment. Here's hoping that I will not have a repeat of my performance. Yes, had a long wait, but, what doctor's office do you not wait at? Also, it's better to wait and know that when it is your turn, your aren't rushed and get the attention you need.
Dr. Shaia is my favorite doctor!!! Very knowledgeable and has taken excellent care of my health.
I have never had a more personable visit! Dr. Shaia and his staff were amazing! Thank you so much for your help, and even being available over a holiday weekend to address my concerns. Too many doctors offer nothing but empty formalism, but this will not happen here! I highly recommend them.
Well it's been almost 7 months since my surgery, and the surgery was successful in improving my hearing! I''m very pleased with the care and treatment I've received from Dr. Shaia, and his audiologist Deborah Cox!
I'm currently working with Deborah in obtaining the optimal hearings aids for my needs, and she has been extremely professional and goes above and beyond in helping her patients hear their best!
