place was worse than my dad's comedic career. they gave me meds and told me the only side effects were shakes and drowsiness. the day i was supposed to discharge they told me i had to stay a few more days because the other side effect, your heart beat irregulates. if they told us this effect before we wouldn't take it
One of the best psychiatric hospitals that I've ever been too! Staff is nice, they have a dog, a huge gym, a school which is laid back, a playground, your doctor and therapists talks to you everyday unlike other places, they have nice recreational and occupational therapy programs, you get your own room, parents are able to stay the night with their children (no other place will allow that), and the food is actually pretty good! The only problem I had with this place is with the doctor, they can sometimes lie, but that's with most psychiatrists anymore..
Not knowledgeable on treating children on the autism spectrum. Prescribed medications that made my kids symptoms 100 times worse.
The staff is amazing! The care attendants and nurses truly care about their patients and go out of their way to help. VTCC saved my son, and I am more grateful than words can express!
Great place, I was here a few times when I was a kid, it was my favorite over the other acute treatment centers I went to.
