Just loved it. If you are a history buff there's tons here. The staff were very friendly and they do tons of events. But if you want an intimate tour go on a week day!!
Amazing place and amazing tour! I loved every moment of it. The collection is broad and well looked after. Look out for witch marks (apotropaic marks) on the wooden panelling and salamanders on the beds to protect from fire! They have very fine examples of Stuart furniture, I loved the painted bed and armada chest! This house is well worth a visit! It was a taste of home! The gardens are also lovely! Thank you!
Quite disappointed. They market that the home was moved to Richmond from England, but only a couple of windows and rafters, everything else was built from here. The furnishings are not original or even from the same time period. There is one room that was kept, but the rest of the tour was a bit of a bore.
Tip: Sit lower in the stands to avoid bugs attracted to the lighting.
Saw Shakespeare performed here for the first time this summer. What a unique venue! It was a great performance as well.
Fantastic house with original pieces from 15th century, many artefacts, and an interesting story behind.
