This park was sketchy to the point of scary. It was covered with litter and hadn’t been mowed in weeks. There were plenty of trash receptacles but they were full. One was overflowing with garbage all around it. The only other visitors we saw were individuals hanging around or in their cars. Obviously neglected!
They have done a great job with this place
Good for fisherman not families, ok for dog walkers. No dangerous homeless people, but it is dirty and unkempt.
The city has done much to improve this boat landing and park to make it somewhere friendlier to go. Parts of the slave trail are here which provides for some interesting (albeit sad) history. In the evenings you'll find people there fishing. Worth a visit, but beware, the mosquitoes are vicious!
